Caring at home - practical tips

Everyone wants to be at home for as long as possible - but family carers need knowledge regarding the best way to care for the body, especially in these times of stretched community resources. Caring for someone at home with a terminal illness can be rewarding, exhausting, frightening and joyful.

Confidence in the everyday tasks of care will help you to cope.

Adult Social Care Brent

Adult Social Care provides practical support to people to stay safe and well.  These services are usually provided in people's homes, care homes or in the community. Thre is also support for people who are caring for an adult family member or friend, access to personal care and home care services.

Citizens Advice Brent
Close

Adviceline is open Monday to Friday 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Advisers are present at Brent Hubs in the Civic Centre from 10.00am to 2.00pm on Mondays and at Harlesden Library from 10.00am to 5.00pm on Wednesdays.

St Luke's Hospice at Home
Close

St. Lukes Hospice@Home provides palliative care services to the residents of North Brent and Harrow. Respite and bridging packages of care are available for end of life patients.

Marie Curie Night Nurses may also be booked by the Hospice at Home Team

Please contact the team between Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
